This was my 4th annual photo adventure into Yellowstone in Winter. Each year, has provided unique photography experiences and this year wasn’t any different.
As we arrived to our hotel in West Yellowstone, Montana, the weather forecast was predicting a winter storm of epic proportions. Luckily, our mode of transport, a monster truck looking snowcoach that we have nicknamed Grave Digger, isn’t really affected by dramatic winter weather.
Yes, the storm happened as predicted, leaving close to 3 feet of new snow in the park and closing all of the roads in and out of West Yellowstone.
Even though the storm covered the beautiful winter light for sunrises and sunsets during this trip, we made do with countless wildlife shooting opportunities. Along the way, we also discovered dozens of abstract photo compositions.
Enjoy a group of selects from this winter’s trip.
