Do you remember the first photograph that inspired you? Maybe it was the cover of a magazine on a newsstand that you brushed by on your way to work? Maybe it was an image sent in to you by a photographer wanting to get published for the first time? Or even something in that book sitting on the coffee table in your living room? Do you remember the feeling you got when you first laid eyes on that photo? It's almost like the butterflies that you had before your first date with your significant other. The inspirational photograph directly impacts our emotions. It changes the way we see, feel, and experience our world. This is my solitary goal for every client that hires me - to inspire you a little bit more than the day before we met.
I am an internationally published adventure photojournalist living in Jackson, Wyoming (many know it as Jackson Hole). I started my professional career as a formally trained architect. There was something about the corporate world within architecture that just didn’t work for me. Instead of complaining or continually living a life that didn’t satisfy, I built a business of my own creation, one that opened the doors to the world and is focused on the foundations of design and art that I learned while studying architecture in college.
I very rarely use Adobe Photoshop to master my photographs. I try to produce as much of the concept of every photograph in-camera and then master the overall look in a non-destructive way using Capture One Pro. I DO NOT add or subtract anything to/from my photos. I do not merge or blend exposures. I do not use HDR software. I do not stretch or warp my photos. I try to focus on producing a compelling composition that highlights the story I was exploring at the time I was exploring it.
I spend six months out of the year traveling the world creating stories about riding bikes on dirt, skis on snow, and anything along the way that is outdoor driven or related.
Read the NEWS section of this website for recent updates on travels, publications and projects or check out my PORTFOLIO page – it highlights all of my latest commissions. In addition, follow me on Instagram to get a daily dose of the photos that I have a personal connection to. If you see something that you feel will work for you, contact me. I don’t believe every project warrants a $20,000 price tag, but I am also not free. Sorry, experience and knowledge come at a price everywhere in this world, but I also understand the reality of budgets. I look forward to hearing from you and at the possibility of producing content that meets your marketing and promotional needs.
