Jay Goodrich Outdoor Adventure Photographer
For me it has always been about the search for the story. It hasn’t ever mattered if that story occurs in one photo, a series of photos, or a story of written words and photos, it’s always about telling a story. I took my first photo way back in 1995. I remember the photo distinctly to this day—a sunrise in Evergreen, Colorado after a September snowstorm left a foot of powder on the ground over the course of the prior evening. I took that photo with a Nikon 8008 camera body, Sigma 24-80 kit lens, totally janky aluminum tripod, and the most magical film that has ever existed—Fujichrome Velvia. It was that first “a ha moment” of continuously looking to show someone, something, that I had discovered. It has never been anything less than a purely magical life.
