The Virgin River has cut its way through the massive sandstone formations of Utah’s most popular National Park. This geologic evolution has created river canyons that permit all day photography, and the unique desert environment creates spectacular sunsets and sunrises along towering rock outcroppings. Desert washes, sand dunes, rock patterns, pinyon forests, and valley overlooks will be just some of the elements we use in discovering how to make provocative imagery.

Sunrise and Sunset field excursions will be enriched by midday group discussions of everything from workflow to creative composition techniques. This workshop will teach you how to go beyond taking a photograph, to intentionally creating an image that makes a powerful statement.

The course fee covers all instruction. Accommodations, meals and travel to Utah are not included.
